[unpad.ac.id, 12-21/2018] After operating in the Mochtar Kusumaatmadja Library Building, Faculty of Law, Unpad, the Business Competition Corner of the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU) moved to the Central Library/Grha Kandaga building at the Jatinangor campus.

The inauguration of the new location was conducted in the Business Competition Corner room at Grha Kandaga Unpad, Jatinangor, Friday (12/21). The inauguration was attended by Rector of Unpad Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad, Deputy Chairperson of KPPU Ukay Karyadi, KPPU representatives and a number of leaders in Unpad.
Ukay said, the presence of the Business Competition Corner was considered strategic for scientific development, especially for the Faculty of Law Unpad. As a school with a school of development law, this corner is important to disseminate various matters related to business competition law.
“The law of business competition is essentially an answer to the economic problems in Indonesia which are relatively unresolved,” Ukay said.
The current problem of inequality in Indonesia cannot be approached by an economic approach. Injustice in business competition should be resolved through a legal approach.
For this reason, Ukay expected this Business Competition Corner to support small and medium businesses to be able to compete with large businesses. “We do not forbid large businesses to grow, but of course they must have a dimension of justice. It would also be nice to have an influence on MSMEs,” Ukay said.
Later, this corner will be a space for discussion, internships, and research on business competition and around KPPU. He also hoped that this corner will become the media for KPPU’s socialization to the community. This is based, there are still many people who do not know about the KPPU.

The Corner was also appreciated by the Rector. According to him, the existence of this corner is in line with the Unpad Principal Scientific Pattern “Development of Law and Environment in National Development”. Located in Jatinangor, this corner is expected to involve all scientific fields in Unpad. *
