[Unpad.ac.id, 28/03/2016] Universitas Padjadjaran was chosen as the head and also the following host of Parnership Forum Leader of Council of Trustees (MWA) from 11 Legal Entity State Universities (PTN BH) from Indonesia. Unpad was chosen as the leader during the Meeting of MWA from 11 PTN BH at Universitas Airlangga, Surabaya, 17–18 March.

During the meeting, representing Unpad as delegation were Rector Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad and Vice Chairman of Board of Trustees Prof. Dr. Obsatar H. Sinaga, M.Sc. The meeting discussed among others the establishment of a forum, which could accommodate 11 MWA of Legal Entities State universities in Indonesia to strengthen mutual coordination.
“We attended as a new PTN BH. During the discussion of who should be the next host, Unpad took the initiative, “said Prof. Obsatar during an interview with PR Unpad, Monday (28/03).
Furthermore, the Professor of FISIP Universitas Padjadjaran said that Unpad obtained strategic position after being elected as the chairman of the forum. He explained that in addition to synergies strengthening between MWA PTN BH, this forum could reinforce communication of PTN BH and Ministry of Research Technology and Higher Education Indonesia in relation to increasing university quality.
“From the 11 PTN BH, there are 6 Board of Trustees whose Decree of Appointment was signed by the Minister. This ministerial decree causes the MWA to communicate directly with the Minister. Perhaps in a way it could be more helpful for processing process, transfer of assets, and others, “said Prof. Obsatar.
For the next year, the meetings would be chaired by MWA Unpad. Prof. Obsatar said that members of the Forum has targets, including a plan to improve State Universities quality in Indonesia to reach the target of being in the 500 major rankings of the best universities in the world.
In addition, regular meetings were planned to be held monthly to discuss various issues raised in PTN BH. Prof. Obsatar said the meeting would also invite other stakeholders related to the management of PTN BH.
“We wanted to facilitate meeting between Bappenas, Parliament, Minister of Finance, Minister of Research Technology and Higher Education to mediate the various constraints faced by legal entity state universities,” said Prof. Obsatar.*
