[Unpad.ac.id, 22/04/2016] Two students of Faculty of Geology Engineering (FTG) Universitas Padjadjaran, Hendy Taufik and Alberto Josua were chosen to present their paper at Annual Student Energy Conference (ASEC) 2016 in University of Zagreb, Kroasia, on 9-12 Maret 2016. At the event they presented their paper entitiled “Pressurized Mud-Cap Drilling and Conventional Drilling Parameter Comparison Analysis of Field AHA”.

“ASEC is special event for students and professionals to present our research finding in relation with energy,” said Berto during interview at PR Unpad Room, Rectorate Building Unpad campus Jatinangor, Thursday (04/21).

In their paper, Hendy and Berto attempted to compare conventional method with pressurized mud-cap drilling as oil drilling technique. From their research, it is concluded that result of pressurized mud-cap drilling is better to be done in high risk limestone ground.

“Pressurized mud-cap drilling is more efficient and fairly economical compared to the convetional method,” said Hendy.

Although they did not receive best participant title, Hendy and Berto were proud with their “Outstanding” award. Moreover with the majority of participants as graduate and postgraduate students, participants from undergraduate like Hendy and Berto were a few.

After participating in the event, Hendy and Berto said that they have gained interesting experience, useful knowledge in field of energy, and vast network. In Croatia they also visited the Indonesia Embassy Office.

This event also became motivation for Hendy and Berto to continue expanding their knowledge. “We are more eager to develop what we have learned,” said Berto.

They hope for other students to not only be satisfied with the knowledge they learned in university classes. “Knowledge is a vast field,” said Hendy.*
