[unpad.ac.id, 6/8/2018] Unpad established cooperation with PT. Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (SMI) Persero. This cooperation was realized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Rector of Unpad Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad and the President Director of PT. SMI, Emma Sri Martini in the Rector’s Room, Unpad Rectorate Building, Jatinangor, Monday (6/8).
On the occasion Emma said, there were several academic and non-academic cooperation plans offered by PT. SMI to Unpad. Regarding academic cooperation, Emma offered research and publication cooperation on the services carried out by the infrastructure project companies to stakeholders.
“We have a mandate from the Ministry of Finance to finance the regional government that must be measured in relation to social economic impacts and benefits,” said Emma.
The number of projects undertaken by PT. SMI in West Java encouraged PT. SMI to take Unpad as its partner to analyze socio-economic impact of the projects. Emma assessed, Unpad has many experts who can help with this analysis.
Emma continued, PT. SMI also has a focus on the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Indonesia. The state-owned company also carries out many development projects that are in line with several achievements in the SDGs. This project is funded by international donor agencies concerning about SDGs.
Seeing Unpad’s commitment to SDGs, Emma opened facilitation for Unpad in carrying out various SDGs implementation projects. Another cooperation plan is to support joint research activities and publications through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program of PT. SMI.
The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding was witnessed by the Directorate General of State Assets of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia and was attended by number of university and faculty leaders.
In addition to cooperating with PT. SMI, the Rector also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the President Commissioner of PT. Bintangraya Lokalestari, Dhanny Handoko. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding was attended by the Deputy Regent of Sukabumi, Adjo Sarjono.
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding was carried out in the framework of cooperation in the development of the Special Economic Zone (KEK) program in Cikidang and Cibadak Sub-Districts of Sukabumi. Unpad is trusted by PT. Bintangraya Lokalestari as a partner for the development of “Agro Health Ecopark” which will support the realization of SEZ in Sukabumi District. *
